Folsom
I drove up to Mike's place in Folsom after work. Traffic was a bitch, but Mike had some ice cold brews waiting for me when I got there. While enjoying my frosty beverage, I fired up my computer to make a last effort to check my email. Wouldn't you know it, I had a message from the CAKE newsletter telling me that CAKE was playing a last minute gig at The Blue Lamp in Sacramento. Admission was only $10. The show started at 9:00.
Mike and I did some serious consideration, but since it was already 9:00 when I got the message, the club was small and sure to sell out, and Sacramento is a good 30 miles from Folsom, we opted to take a pass. Instead we headed down to historic downtown Folsom for some nightlife.
Our first stop was Scarlets which is cojoined with The PowerHouse Pub. I wasn't expecting much, but the talent was unbelieveable. These cow town girls got it going on. Even the chick in the wheelchair was hot. We drank and gawked for an hour or so and then headed over to The Sutter Club. Talent followed. What can I say, I like Folsom already and I will be back.
