Swimmin' hole

Highway 70 through Feather River Canyon in northeast California is one of the best drives in the state. It parallels the Feather River for more than 60 miles between Oroville and Quincy, crossing the river several times via spectacular steel bridges. It even has dark tunnels blasted though granite that always make me freak me out when forget to remove my shades.

















Right near the intersection of Hwy 70 and 89, about 10 mies north of Quincy is Indian Falls. The falls itself isn't overly spectacular, but the swimming hole that it has created and the surroundings are.

What a great place to take a sunny afternoon break.
